Welcome to the home page of the Soveriegn Militray Order of Christian Knights Templar. We are a religious Order of knights, who trace the history of our Order back to ancient Scotland, where brothers of our Order fought under the banner of Robert the Bruce at Bannockburn. The Templars under edict of the Church of Rome fled from France to Scotland, where they continued the works they believed they had been called by Christ to complete. We, as their spiritual decendents, carry on that work. Our mission, as we believe imparted to us by Divine Providence is as follows: Recruit Godly men and women of character and integrity to swell our ranks; Protect Christianity from the forces that would mininize it or destroy it; Ensure that Christians everywhere have the right to free assembly and worship; to lift up the Name of Jesus Christ as King of Kings and Lord of Lords in every corner of the world; and lastly, in accordance with the original charter of the Knights Templar: Protect and defend those that cannot do so for themselves.
This Order is Christian in both name and deed, and holds itself as one of the last true bastions of Christian Knighthood in the world. We are not Masonic, and hold to the belief that the Masonic Order has made free use of the Templar legends for thier own benefit. Kighthoods in this Order are not conferred by mastering some level of arcane ancient lore, nor are they conferred by an appropriate lump sum payment into an Order's coffers, purchasing a knighthood and the admittance to high-end dinner parties that go with it. Our knighthoods are conferred the old fashioned way, through the approval of a council of elder knights, that have evaluated a postulate for zeal for Christ, personal character, integrity, and above all, the heart of a servant.
We are a ecuminical Christian Order, and adhere to both the Nicene Creed and the Apostle's Creed as statements of faith. We have no secret rituals or secret oaths, nor do we require any knight to swear to anything that would violate Christian testimony or individual conviction.
Knighthood is about service, not about titles. God, Country, Faith, Duty, Character, Integrity, Honor, and yes, Chivalry, are the qualities that define a Christian Knight, and what we are pledged to uphold in service to our Lord.
